In a feature article of Moving Into Music Monthly|October, Principal Lauris Hing writes …
“We are delighted to share with readers the story of Daniel Riley – composer, singer, choral conductor, multi- instrumentalist. We are most proud of Daniel and his achievements and trust that his story is inspirational to our students and their families. Daniel began his musical journey when his parents responded to Moving Into Music’s rallying cry “Give Your Child the Gift of Music”. They joined the MIM Pre-Schooler program.
His development has been reported in various Moving Into Music publications along the way. Here we have compiled clips from the MIM archives”
Daniel performed in Moving Into Music Concerts … at mid-year Solos Concerts and at Christmas Concerts from the inaugural staged at MLC in 2002. He studied piano with MIM’s first piano teacher, Rudy Nurtanaya, from beginner to advanced … taking all AMEB exams along the way until tertiary level at University.
His talents as a conductor came early when, as a tech-savvy teenager, Daniel posted his compositions on the internet. This resulted in commissions … Fantasia on a Gregorian Chant – a work written for Concert Band was purchased for and premiered by Stadtmusik Laufenburg in Germany. His professional life had begun!
and Daniel today … what of his compositions, his collaborations, his conducting, his upcoming projects and gigs ?
