Moving Into Music begins … Term 1 – 2022

Moving Into Music Principal, Lauris Hing writes to students, families and friends,

“Welcome to 2022 – we wish you all the very best in an ever challenging Covid-19 situation which accompanies the beginning of this year.

Returning to school tomorrow brings tension and uncertainty … coronavirus cases are falling but remain higher than schools have ever dealt with. Now we are entering the living with Covid phase of this pandemic.

In a third year of coping with Covid, we pay tribute to those in the front-line of our health system who continue to work tirelessly and selflessly to constantly deal with each Covid onslaught.

Within the realm of music education, despite any challenges we face, we look forward to teaching and learning together this year … and to sharing the joy of music which informs and enriches our lives.

Our lessons continue at the Studios in Kew and CBD-Southbank … and Online:

Alerts from the authorities indicate that the return to school will be “messy” … that in February and March an uptick in Covid cases is expected. At Moving Into Music we are ready to welcome students back to the studios for lessons BUT we are equally ready to convert to online lessons whenever this becomes necessary. This can be on a lesson by lesson, needs basis … due to isolation requirements of either a teacher or student. We therefore recommend and ask for students’ preparedness to pivot … to alert the teacher immediately if a studio lesson becomes unviable so that it can be converted into an online lesson and hence does not need to be missed.
