A Musical Life, in Los Angeles and Melbourne: Film Composer and Producer Francois Tetaz …

In the MIM MONTHLY MARCH|APRIL,
Lauris Hing, Principal writes:
“Dear Moving Into Music students, families and friends,
March brings us the cooler weather of Autumn as we settle into the regular rhythms of Term 1 … learning and living our musical lives.
Throughout March-April we get down to work … focussing on our musical goals and striving towards them. Regular lessons, regular practice – these are the building blocks of advancing our musical dreams.
In this edition we look at role models – musicians who’s working lives began in Melbourne and have spread to wider horizons across the world. They know and understand what is required to pursue a life in music. We look in on the musical lives of former MIM students and staff. They are forging musical careers at home and abroad.”
First let’s look in on Francois Tetaz …
FT - 1
Franc Tetaz is a giant in the music industry. He is a former parent of Moving Into Music – the father of three daughters who all attended the Pre-Schooler program in Ivanhoe with Lauris Hing in the early 2000s. Francois who graced the MIM Christmas Concert stage @ MLC in 2007 was featured in the MIM Monthly|October 2020 edition. http://www.movingintomusic.com.au/2020/12/09/moving-music-looks-back-first-met-francois-tetaz/

Recent activity of Francois Tetaz includes giving back to the industry … mentoring young and aspiring musical talent via conferences and workshops.
The value of passing on knowledge to those coming after is never in dispute. It is essential to the lifeblood of music and musicians. Moving Into Music recommends to anyone hoping to advance a musical career … “take the opportunity to learn from Francois however and whenever you can.”
Since Francois’ working life is trans-Atlantic … we should extend this to “where-ever you can”!!

Moving Into Music continues to follow the musical lives of its students, teachers and associates. It is of interest to watch and learn about their pursuits in music.
We celebrate as their musical endeavours are released out into the world. We hope that they flourish. We wish them well as they continue to enrich our world with musical offerings. We thank them for the pleasure and beauty they bring to our lives.
