Inextricably linked to the Myer Music Bowl and the contribution of Sidney Myer is this city’s world-class orchestra – The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Myer began open air concerts featuring this orchestra in 1929 in the city’s parks and gardens, before these concerts were moved to the Myer Music Bowl in 1959. Summer of 2023 marks the sixty-fourth concert by our spectacular orchestra in our special place. Moving Into Music enjoys links to the MSO. Over the years many musicians playing in this orchestra have, with their children, been a part of Moving Into Music programs … including several members of the current MSO.
