MOVING INTO MUSIC – ONLINE CONCERT – Guitars, Drums, Pianos: Sunday 1st August @ 9.30am

We are pleased to be welcoming our teachers and students back to the studios after Lockdown 5.

We began the month of August at the Online Concerts 1,2 and 3. These Concerts were initially scheduled to be mid-year … and we had planned for them to be live in the MLC auditorium … but lockdowns forced them to be postponed twice and finally we decided to change to Online Concerts to ensure they could be held with certainty.

Covid -circumstance currently removes certainty and predictability from our lives … and it continues to dictate all our plans. It certainly affected some or our students’ opportunity to participate in the concerts. Regardless, we are grateful that we were able to make changes and meet up on Zoom with many students, families and friends to enjoy wonderful musical experiences together at the three Solos Concerts.

SUNDAY 1st AUGUST: Moving Into Music SOLOS CONCERTS:

Concert 1: 9.30am | Guitar Students of Genaaron Diamente and Kieran Colton, 

                  Drums Students of Sebastian Vargas …plus Piano Students of Zac Hamilton-Russell

This concert was a mix of guitarists, drummers and, at the last minute, pianists. Clashes with other activities depleted the guitar performers of Genaaron’s lineup … but we were fortunate – this concert was gifted three piano students who were unable, also because of clashes, to attend at midday in Zac’s Concert 3.

Fortunately also, Zoom gives us the chance to hook up our students in Melbourne and Hong Kong. Our Melbourne students performed live … and to assist with audio fidelity, we screened video performances of three Hong Kong drum students and their teacher Sebastian whose Percussion Jam included guitar, ukulele, cajon and brushes to cymbal. Guitar teacher, Kieran, was a charming host ensuring that everything ran smoothly. It was a wonderful concert with many diverse styles on display. The students performed with confidence and poise – they delivered a fantastic start to the Concert Series. Screenshots taken at the concert are shared below for your enjoyment:
