Nicholas Young and Yi-Ling Ng: Sinister Creative’s Sound Byte Concert @ The Space Skydeck, Prahran on 11th June

Our Teachers are all working musicians who are performing in Melbourne’s vibrant music scene as it returns to life.
Musicians contribute and support us through life’s major events.  We turn to music in times of need  … to comfort us and to help us celebrate the milestone moments: from birth – at our gatherings, parties, weddings  to funerals and all the significant occasions in between.
Please keep piling on the love and supporting our musicians – our teachers  in all their musical enterprises.
Moving Into Music is most proud of the fact that our teachers are working musicians, are multi-talented and are entrepreneurial – involved in many aspects of music making …
Hence they are wonderful role models for our students.
Please support two of our fantastic piano teachers:

Some details about the event:
In partnership with Freeplay Independent Games Festival, SOUND BYTE is Sinister Creative’s inaugural celebration of music written by Australian composers for Australian games. Performed by a mixed ensemble of innovative Melbourne musicians, SOUND BYTE’s 2021 line-up features acoustic arrangements of soundtracks from homegrown indie games such as Untitled Goose Game, Submerged, Feather, and more. Interval activities will include an exhibit of upcoming and recent games, available for attendees to play while grabbing a byte to eat.
Nick and Yi-Ling say:
“We hope to see you there on June 11th, 7:30pm at The Space’s Skydeck in Prahran. Hear some music, play some games, and meet new friends!”

At the upcoming concert:Nick will be playing piano (on keyboard)  … and Yi-Ling will be playing a mix of oboe, cor anglais and keyboard. One of Yi-Ling’s compositions will also be featured … It’s the soundtrack to Loch Mess, a relaxing Scottish-themed puzzle game.Hear Nicholas’ virtuosic performance of Debussy’s Preludes as he features on The trailer for Untitled Goose Game: https://youtu.be/9LL2AtHo1gk

I asked Yi-Ling: “Who is the target audience for these games?”

She replied: ” I think that both Loch Mess and Untitled Goose Game are aimed at a wide audience, including (though not specifically) children. Loch Mess is a puzzle game – so if you think of something like Candy Crush (but slower paced), and it’s co-operative … so could be played with more than one person.

Goose Game is a game where you pretend to be a snarky goose and bother residents in a peaceful village, which I can imagine could appeal to children in particular, or the inner child in all of us“.
